How it started
Aaron plays live cash. He went looking for something that would let him track his sessions and his hands properly, not shorthand in the Notes app and a bankroll tracker that hadn't been updated in years, and came up short. So he built himself a version of it, which worked well enough that it stopped being a side project.
James has spent a career working in software and data, and has shipped mobile apps before. They teamed up to create Hero Call, and build something that they both wanted, an app to track their live hands, give them a level of detail they craved, and help them improve their game.

What we decided, and why

Live cash games only, to start.
Tournaments are a different results model — entries, re-entries, ITM, ROI. Real demand, real scope. We'd rather ship them properly later than badly now.

Never a real-time assistant.
No odds, no equity, no advice while you're in a hand. Card rooms prohibit it, the table judges you for it, and it's the difference between a study tool and a cheating tool. It's enforced in the app code, not just promised.

Your data is never held hostage.
Export free on every tier, including after you cancel. Stop paying and nothing is deleted. We watched too many people lose their history to decide otherwise.

Your notes on other players stay private.
A player record is your note about someone, scoped to your account. Linking records between users isn't possible. We'd rather store notes than run a database of profiles on people who never agreed to be in one.
Where we are
Pre-launch. Only our private test group currently has access. Sign up on our waitlist to stay up to date on our releases.
The app is being built in Austin, and it'll get tested in Austin card rooms. So if you see us around or see someone pulling up the Hero Call test app on their phones, ask us about it.
